    A Day in the life of an Environmental Engineer at PM Environmental:

    • Focusing on leaking underground storage tank, remediation, and redevelopment projects primarily in Michigan
    • Interaction, participation, and communication with internal teams as we track and achieve project objectives
    • Development of work plans for remedial investigations, remedial options evaluation, pilot testing, remediation design, and implementation of remediation strategies, and technologies
    • Development of vapor intrusion (VI) assessment work plans, pilot testing, design assistance
    • Development of VI and LNAPL conceptual site models
    • Report writing, data management and evaluation, project management and coordination
    • Some site visits and field work (aquifer testing, pilot testing, remediation system, etc.)
    • Some client, regulator, and stakeholder interaction

    What you bring to the PM Environmental team:

    • A Bachelor’s Degree in environmental engineering
    • Three to five years of related environmental engineering experience
    • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification is preferred
    • Knowledge of Michigan’s Part 213, Leaking Underground Storage Tanks, environmental regulations
    • Soil and groundwater remediation experience
    • Vapor Intrusion (VI) assessment and mitigation experience
    • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER 29 CFR 1910.120 certification with documented yearly refresher course is a plus
    • Excellent communication, analytical, organization and time management skills
    • Must be detail-oriented and a team player
    • A valid driver’s license is required
    • Ability to work in various settings and climates
    • Ability to work flexible hours and be available for some travel Field experience (subcontractor and field oversight, aquifer testing, pilot testing, remediation system, etc.)

    A Day in the life of an Project Manager at PM Environmental:

    • Project management and coordination of leaking underground storage tank/site assessment/remediation/state contract projects
    • Preparation and/or review of technical work plans
    • Client interaction
    • Report writing and preparation
    • Budget and cost estimates
    • Site visits
    • Subcontractor management
    • Data collection, management, and evaluation
    • Sampling of soil, water, and/or soil gas/vapor

    What you bring to the PM Environmental team:

    • Three (3) to ten (10) years of Leaking Underground Storage Tank and/or site assessment  experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field
    • State contract experience and bid specification experience is a plus
    • Knowledge of Michigan’s environmental regulations (Part 213/201/211/215)
    • Mix of office experience (Initial Assessment Reports, Final Assessment Reports, Closure Reports, project & budget management, etc) and field experience (subcontractor oversight, soil/GW sampling, etc)
    • Excellent communication, analytical, organization and time management skills are critical to success in this position
    •  Must be detail-oriented and a team player
    • Project management experience
    • A valid driver’s license is required
    • Ability to work in various settings and climates
    • Ability to work flexible hours and be available for travel

    Orchard Hill Sanitary Landfill

    LANDFILL OPERATIONS MANAGER

    Job duties include:

    Manage the day-to-day operations of the Orchard Hill Sanitary Landfill, located in Watervliet, Michigan. The ideal candidate will have experience in the following fields:

    • ·         Landfill operations
    • Landfill / earthwork construction
    • Environmental compliance
    • Safety

    Ensure the highest standards of environmental safety and operational excellence by effectively managing the day-to-day operations of the landfill.

    Manage the operations of the landfill, including:  ongoing construction, licensing, permitting, leachate, and landfill gas management.

    Minimize operational costs while maximizing productivity and maintaining safety and environmental compliance.

    Continually work to improve turnaround time for waste hauling trucks in and out of site.

    Accurately monitor and record waste receipts volume and weight.

    Serve as a community relationships liaison.

    Direct and manage third-party environmental and engineering consultants with facility licensing and permitting issues.

    Oversee site personnel needs including recruiting and training employees and evaluating employee performance. Provides input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions.

    Assist the General Manager in the landfill budget process.

    Manage the maintenance of the landfill facility through inspections and routine preventive maintenance programs with site staff.

    Conduct and/or attend routine site safety meetings to maintain favorable working relationships among employees and promote maximum morale, productivity, and efficiency.

    Update and submit required internal and regulatory reports in a timely manner.

    Direct supervision of 12 – 18 full-time and part-time landfill employees.

    Education and Experience

    Education: Bachelor's Degree (accredited), or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and 5 years of relevant work experience.

    Experience:

    o   5 years of relevant work experience (in addition to education requirement).

    o   Microsoft programs – Word, Excel, Powerpoint

    Job Type: Full-time

    Orchard Hill Sanitary Landfill

    Environmental Compliance Specialist

    Job duties include:

    • Coordinate management of incoming waste.
    • Identifying the testing requirements of the material to be disposed of, distributing and collecting special waste documentation, reviewing and approving of the material prior to disposal.
    • Filing waste documentation appropriately
    • Track and update approvals of ongoing waste streams
    • Provide waste training to company employees
    • Monitoring regulatory changes that will impact operations at the State, County, City and Township levels.
    • Attend applicable regulatory training sessions both in person and online.
    • Represent Orchard Hill Sanitary Landfill at state association meetings.
    • Successfully perform the required compliance duties of monitoring and reporting certain criteria to regulators.
    • Coordinate and attend visits with state regulators

    Job Requirements:

    • Be able to work independently or as part of a team.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Strong time management skills
    • Strong organization skills
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Be a problem solver
    • Would prefer solid waste industry regulatory experience
    • A degree in the fields of science, marketing, management or accounting a plus
    • This position calls for occasional evening or weekends work and/or on call as needed
    • Have a valid Michigan driver’s license and an excellent driving record
    • Must pass pre-employment job screening

    What you bring to the PM Environmental team:

    • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology or Related field
    • 1 - 3 years of experience in Environmental Consulting; experience with Phase I ESAs is a must.
