MAEP Golf Outing Webpage

Adapting from Jim Shannon’s “2007 Golf Outing” article title of one year ago, it seems that the Annual MAEP Golf Outing just keeps getting better. The July 8, 2008 event was completely sold out for the fifth consecutive year; we had as many golfers (148) as the Moose Ridge course in South Lyon could handle. As near as anyone could tell, everyone enjoyed the day out on the course, the weather cooperated (more or less), and lots and lots of great prizes were distributed to more and more golfers.

As for the weather; this is Michigan in July, and what else should we expect? The high was in the low 80’s. Some light rain moved in around mid-afternoon and a heavier shower or two caught a few people. Lots of great and not so great golf was played. Here is a summary of some of the major awards/prize winners:

Despite the generally slow economy in Michigan, we had enthusiastic sponsors at locations all around the course. Based on the record proceeds, up from last year’s record, we will have more money than ever before to be given out in the form of educational grants.
